Earlier today, our hosting provider informed us of a major server hardware failure in their data center effecting VisualSociety.com. The drives powering VisualSociety.com were damanged, which means all blogs are currently down and at worst lost. Clearly, we aren't happy. I know you aren't either. The hosting company is attempting to recover the drives and has sent the drives in for data recovery. This process takes 2 weeks they have said and there is not 100% certainty that any of the data can be recovered. Unfortunately, this is 100% out of our control at this point.
Many users used the Backup and WordPress Export tools to download backups of their blogs. If you did this, your site can be recovered. If you don't have a backup your site, you will have to wait 2 weeks to see if any of the data can be recovered from these damaged drives. There isn't 100% certainty that the data (your blog) can be recovered.
If you purchased additional storage space and domain mapping at VisualSociety.com, you will receive a 100% refund for your last transaction.
We're committed to doing everything that's within our control to help you rebuild your blog. We'd like to offer you two options for rebuilding your blog:
Again, we are sincerely sorry about this.
